Research Scientist — AI & Robotics

About the Role

We’re seeking a Research Scientist to lead and contribute to cutting-edge research in artificial intelligence and robotics. You’ll work at the intersection of theory and application, developing novel algorithms and systems that push the boundaries of what’s possible.

What You’ll Do

  • Conduct original research in AI, machine learning, and robotics
  • Design and implement algorithms for perception, planning, and control
  • Develop prototypes and proof-of-concept systems
  • Publish research findings in top-tier conferences and journals
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to transition research into products
  • Stay current with latest advances in AI/ML and robotics
  • Mentor junior researchers and contribute to team growth
  • Present research findings to internal and external stakeholders

Requirements

Must Have

  • PhD or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, AI, or related field
  • 4+ years of research experience in AI, ML, or robotics
  • Strong publication record in relevant venues (NeurIPS, ICML, ICRA, IROS, CoRL)
  • Proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow)
  • Experience with robotics simulation tools (Isaac Sim, MuJoCo, Gazebo)
  • Solid foundation in mathematics (linear algebra, probability, optimization)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting complex ideas

Nice to Have

  • Experience with reinforcement learning and imitation learning
  • Background in computer vision or natural language processing
  • Hands-on experience with physical robotic systems
  • Knowledge of ROS/ROS2
  • Experience with large language models (LLMs) and foundation models
  • Published patents or industry research experience
  • Experience leading research projects or teams
